Southern/Gatwick X Stakeholder Forum – Part 7

Further to the individual presentation reports, some other Q&A and interesting quotes:

AD: Southern must improve line-by-line but London Bridge rebuild works still has impacts

Hassocks station facilities depreciating not improving.

EC: THERE IS STILL AMBIGUITY OVER FUTURE LEVELS.

Can some west coastway services run via Sutton to ease pressure on BML?

PH: NO, TOO MUCH DEMAND FOR GATWICK and EAST CROYDON

PH: Journey times will increase to allow service robustness ie timetable creep

AD: GTR goes to ACAS to compromise. RMT is being disingenuous to its members.

Which routes will OBS operate on?

AD: OBS will cover a spectrum of services. We will introduce guaranteed rostering for services that have conductors, but need operational flexibility

So that’s it. There was a lot to get through in 3 hours; if we all got all our questions in (and answered) then we would probably still be there!

We hope that this document (and the preceding 6) have given an insight as to what was discussed, and why there still may be trouble ahead…….
